Snapped Mary Winkler and Matthew Winkler

In season 6, episode 1 the murder of her husband, Matthew Winkler by Mary Winkler is shown. This murder occurred in the state of Tennessee. Oxygen describes this episode of Snapped as Mary Winkler shoots her preacher husband Matthew in March 2006 to get out of a financial crisis and a troubled marriage



Mary Winkler was sentenced to 3 years in prison for the conviction of voluntary manslaughter on June 8, 2007. She was released on August 14, 2007.
