Snapped Elizabeth Shannon and Army Maj. David Shannon

Status: Incarcerated

In Oxygen's Snapped, Season 4, episode 13 the story of her husband Army Maj. David Shannon and Elizabeth Shannon is shown. This happens in the state of North Carolina. Oxygen describes this show as: Joan Shannon solicits her daughter Elizabeth in the July 2002 shooting death of her husband David, a soldier.

Elizabeth Shannon plead guilty, agreed to testify against her mother and was sentenced to a maximum of 31 years in prison

Her mother's appeal includes:
In the instant case, defendant was married to David Shannon (Shannon), who served in the United States Military.   Defendant and Shannon lived in Fayetteville, North Carolina with Daisy Shannon (Daisy) and Elizabeth Shannon (Elizabeth), defendant's biological daughters.

Defendant and Shannon were members of the “Fayetteville Gang Bangers”, a “swingers” club.   Jeffrey Wilson testified that defendant and Shannon contacted him online through the internet in November or December 2001.   After they began corresponding online, Shannon asked Wilson if he wanted to have sex with defendant.   Wilson further testified that Shannon told him about the “Fayetteville Gang Bangers,” and encouraged him to add his name to their e-mail list to receive party notifications.   Over the course of the next three months, Wilson went to “Fayetteville Gang Bangers” parties.

Elizabeth looks so much like her mother. I'm not sure why her mother involved her and ruined her life by sending her to prison. If nothing else, perhaps other parents will avoid doing this.
