In Snapped Season 18, Episode 8, the story of Dawn Fowler is shown. This ends badly for her ex-husband Richard Craig Fowler in the state of South Carolina.

Dawn Fowler plead guilty and was sentenced to 18 years suspended to 13 years on the charge of conspiracy to kidnap, 13 years for accessory after murder, five years for conspiracy to commit murder and one year each on two unrelated counts of breach of trust, totaling $2,000 in 2008. She has since been released from prison.

Her friend from church, Robert Lee Heydman, was convicted and sentenced to life for the beating.
