Snapped Beth Carpenter and Buzz Clinton

In season 7, episode 5 the murder of her brother-in-law, Buzz Clinton by Beth Carpenter is shown. This murder occurred in the state of Connecticut. Oxygen describes this episode of Snapped as Beth Carpenter had a promising law career, but when her brother-in-law Buzz Clinton found dead on a highway in March 1994, she becomes the prime suspect.



Beth Carpenter was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole on August 1, 2002.

The facts underlying Ms. Carpenter’s conviction involve the 1994 death of a man killed by a gunman who was hired by Ms.
Carpenter’s lover.   Several  years  after  the  murder  was  carried  out,  Ms.  Carpenter  was  charged  with  1 The Court takes judicial notice that all exhibits provided by Respondent are either public court dockets or publicly filed cases. and  convicted  of  capital  felony,  conspiracy  to  commit  murder,  and  accessory  to  commit murder.  She received a sentence of life without parole.

Snapped Shannon Baugus

Status: Acquitted  On Oxygen's Snapped, Season 9, Episode 12 the story of the murder of her husband by Shannon Baugus is shown. The show is described as Shannon Baugus is suspected of shooting her husband during an argument over the television in March 2010, and police challenge her claims that she was a battered wife. This happened in Tennessee. Shannon Baugus was charged with first-degree murder but was aquitted of all charges by a jury.
